Kelly Dzioba Artist Talk
On April 4, 2025, Gravers Lane Gallery hosted an artist talk with Kelly Dzioba, whose exhibition A Romance in Lower Mathematics invites viewers into a world where repetition becomes revelation. Drawing inspiration from the 1965 animated short The Dot and the Line, Dzioba’s work explores the moment when individual gestures—twists, knots, and connections—accumulate into something greater than their sum.
During the talk, Dzioba spoke about her process-driven practice using party bead necklaces to build mesmerizing textile forms that blur the line between craft and fine art. With humor, intellect, and emotional resonance, she revealed how her minimalist and geometric works are not only about structure, but also about connection—between materials, ideas, and people.
