Artistic Director

Bruce plays an essential role in expanding the gallery’s reach and network. By fostering relationships across the art world, he connects the gallery with artists, collectors, and institutions, cultivating lasting connections with patrons and partners. Bruce also provides expert guidance on art acquisitions and collection development. As a key collaborator with the Gallery Director, Bruce curates and co-curates exhibitions ; and offers his expertise on gallery matters. He is available in the gallery for client consultations and commissions; as well as any other appointments.

Bruce Hoffman is a Philadelphia native and graduate of Tyler School of Art with a BFA in painting. In 1985 he began working for one of Philadelphia’s prominent galleries and Studio Craft quickly became a life-long passion. Hoffman developed a particular affinity for and interest in textiles and ceramics. In 1990 he guest curated two exhibitions for Bristol Myers Squibb Gallery, in Princeton New Jersey, including “Contemporary Furniture Makers and the American Northeast”. That show earned acclaim, including positive reviews from The New York Times. Hoffman then curated an International Fiber Arts exhibition, which proved to be a resounding success, leading to six additional biennials and the pinnacle event: FiberPhiladelphia 2012. Collaborating with friend and artist Amy Orr, Hoffman served as the festival’s executive curator, overseeing a groundbreaking, grassroots, four-month-long celebration with 61 exhibitions across Philadelphia, including iconic venues like the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Moore College of Art and Philadelphia’s City Hall.

Bruce has taught and lectured in art institutions in the United States and has written publications on studio crafts. He has participated as a guest juror for esteemed institutions like the American Crafts Council, The Philadelphia Craft Show, and The Smithsonian Craft Show. Hoffman has devoted energies to supporting the James Renwick Alliance, The Fuller Craft Museum and the Racine Art Museum.

In 2012 Hoffman began his journey as Director of the newly founded Gravers Lane Gallery in Chestnut Hill. He immediately joined the board of the Business Association, serving as vice president and president for two years. During his tenure, Hoffman championed the “Made By Hand” arts festival and helped shape community events in Chestnut Hill.

In 2025, he shifted away from daily gallery operations, allowing him more freedom and time to focus on supporting and advising with artists, clients, institutions and museums. As Curatorial Consultant & Art Advisor of Gravers Lane Gallery, his expertise and network remain integral to expanding the gallery’s reach and enhancing its programming. Whether scouting for new, inspiring artists, advocating for fellow artists, consulting with collectors, educating visitors of all ages and backgrounds, or supporting the local community and businesses, Hoffman’s commitment remains unwavering, shaping a legacy that resonates in the vibrant tapestry of the art world.

Marketing

Mia brings a strategic, holistic approach to her work in marketing—balancing storytelling, design, and audience insight to support both mission-driven and commercial initiatives. As Marketing at Gravers Lane Gallery, she shapes the gallery’s public identity across digital and print platforms, developing campaigns that expand access to contemporary craft at all points of engagement—from conceptual fine art to everyday design objects. Her efforts support artists, exhibitions, and community initiatives through cohesive messaging and visual clarity.

In her concurrent role as AVP of Marketing at The Goldenberg Group, Mia supported a range of development and philanthropic efforts through tailored communications strategies. Her contributions span from branded collateral and web design to aerial photography and bilingual content—helping to frame the organization’s projects in ways that resonate with both local audiences and broader markets.

Originally from Lancaster, PA, Mia earned her degree in Integrative Arts from Pennsylvania State University in 2018, a program that allowed her to bridge technical sculptural and architectural practices with media design and communications. Her studio education was rooted in metal fabrication and mixed-media processes, developing both craft and conceptual thinking. That foundation continues to inform her professional work, where the ability to hold nuance and function together in a single project remains essential.

Mia’s strength lies in weaving together the visual and verbal—from copywriting and campaign strategy to design execution and public positioning. She is proud to help demystify and champion Contemporary Craft, making it accessible and resonant across the spectrum of engagement—from collectors and curators to gift-seekers and first-time visitors.

Multicultural and multilingual, Mia has a passion for language learning and embraces the role of communication in bridging cultures and perspectives. She enjoys applying her wide-ranging toolkit—spanning design, writing, digital media, and even aerial photography as a licensed UAS drone pilot—toward meaningful, place-based storytelling.

Managing Director

Ryan is responsible for integrating The Goldenberg Group’s social impact and environmental sustainability priorities with its myriad development and enterprise projects, including Gravers Lane Gallery. An experienced social enterprise leader, Ryan has worked with a wide variety of non-profit, institutional, and corporate clients to develop impact metrics, generate revenue-driven programs, and deepen community partnerships. Ryan holds an MBA from Temple University and a BA in Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania, and brings that expertise to the planning and execution of GLG’s exhibitions and installations.

Gallery Associate

Joseph brings decades of experience to the gallery, handling exhibition planning, installation, and layout design. Collaborating closely with artists, he ensures their work is safely transported, installed and presented in a professional manner in the gallery. In addition, Joseph provides expert advice on art selection and he works directly with clients to offer personalized guidance on acquisitions and residential installations. His expertise & intuitive sense of design ensures a pleasantly tailored experience for each client.



Born in Western New York, Joseph received his undergraduate degree from Nazareth University, Rochester, NY, and relocated to Philadelphia in 1991 to pursue his Master of Fine Arts in Printmaking at Tyler School of Art and Architecture of Temple University. As the recipient of a Tyler Galleries Graduate Assistantship he gained invaluable experience as an art handler and preparator for three galleries on the former estate of Stella Elkins Tyler in Elkins Park, and the main Temple Gallery location at 1616 Walnut Street, Philadelphia. After completing his master’s degree in 1993, he was promoted to Assistant to the Gallery Director where his role focused on the university’s multi-faceted exhibition program and lecture series.

In 1999, Joseph acquired an established fine art and craft gallery in Willow Grove, PA, which he owned & managed for 20 years. There he forged the majority of his professional relationships with hundreds of American craftspeople and artists through visits to studios and trade shows, his gallery’s commitment to exhibiting the work of independent artists, and in his role as a liaison between artists and clientele to secure acquisitions and special commissions. He joined the expanding curatorial team at GLG in 2023 as Associate Artistic Director to contribute his knowledge and years of gallery experience to the continued success of the gallery both within the Chestnut Hill community and across the country.

In the pursuit of his own artistic endeavors, Joseph recently returned to his studio to focus on ink painting and the creation of a series of work. His paintings are included in many juried and curated exhibitions throughout the year and his work resides in numerous private and corporate collections across the country. In addition to his position at GLG, Joseph’s committed to volunteering weekly at a local community cupboard, planning the next travel excursion, and walking the neighborhood with his greyhound.
