Mardi Jo Cohen was born in 1959 in Brooklyn, NY. She studied at the Tyler School of Art at Temple University in Philadelphia, and graduated in 1982. One of her first exhibitions was at Surface and Ornament at CAC in 1986, and she has exhibited at SOFA in Chicago as well. In 1989 she received the National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship. Mardi Jo Cohen's work has also been exhibited through Gravers Lane Gallery, Philadelphia, PA; Snyderman Gallery, Philadelphia, PA; Joanne Rapp Gallery, Scottsdale, AZ; The Works Gallery, Philadelphia, PA; American Craft Museum; the National Museum of American Jewish History, Philadelphia, PA. Her work is in the collections of Yale University, American Silver Museum, the American Craft Museum, and the Museum of Art and Design in NYC.
